31 days of small acts: happy mail

once upon a time people used to write long, lovely letters to each other.  it was a really wonderful form of communication and connection that meant a lot – evidenced by the stacks of letters saved by our grandparents — also by myself — i’ve kept every card and letter (or 99.9%) from my best friend since we met at age seven – 25ish years of written words.

one of the best and most exciting things is finding a handwritten addressed envelope in the stack stack of bills and junk from your mailbox.  take a few minutes to write a hi, or thank you, or feel better, thinking of you, or happy baby, wedding, retirement (do people still do that these days?), etc. and drop in in the mailbox.

small and happy deed that will brighten up someone’s day!
